Disney World vacation in June 2000

Date of last edit = 02/07/2003

We visited Disney World during the first week of June 2000. We started by driving from Texas to Pensacola, Florida on Saturday, June 2. We spent the night at a motel where Jeremy and Katie Beth both went swimming with Daddy. The next morning we snacked on donuts and orange juice before driving the rest of the way to Kissimmee, Florida. We checked into the Vistana Resort later that Sunday afternoon. Greg and Pam and their kids flew into Orlando from Tucson that same evening. They rented a car and drove to the Vistana resort before nightfall. We had a very nice two bedroom unit that was located immediately next door to an identical unit where Greg's family stayed.

Jeremy and Katie Beth had a fun time running next door to play with their cousins Karen and Dana. We also had a good time together going to the swimming pool, going out to eat, and going to Disney World. On Monday, we visited Gator World which featured alligators, crocodiles, and other assorted wildlife. We also had to drive a rather tedious route to get there, because the most direct route was closed due to nearby forest fires.

We got 5 day passes for Disney World so that each day of the week we could visit a different theme park. We went to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, and Epcot Center. We were so exhausted from all the previous days adventures that we cancelled any plans to use our 5th day pass. Also... Marni came to visit from Wednesday to Saturday during our week. It was a very exciting week that was crammed full of cool things to do. We again spent two days driving on our return trip back to Texas.
