Vacation in Galveston in July 2008

We stayed at a timeshare called Silverleaf Seaside Resort, which is
located on the west end of Galveston Island, near Jamaica Beach.
During this vacation, we spent time at the beach, played tennis,
swam at the resort pool, played putt putt, watched the sunset from
the back balcony of our unit at the resort, watched July 4th fireworks
from that same balcony, and occasionally drove into Galveston for
tourist activities such as visiting Moody Gardens and the
Strand Historical District. During late hours in the evening and
early morning hours we watched Wimbledon Tennis on TV.
The timing of this vacation was most fortunate as 2-1/2 months later,
the entire island was pummeled by Hurricane Ike.
